WIPO Intergovernmental Committee Commences its 33rd Session on the Protection of Traditional Cultura

DCC Principal, Marion Heathcote, is currently representing Marques (the European Brand Owners association) as an NGO expert at the 33rd session of the WIPO Intergovernmental Committee dedicated to considering the protection to be afforded to traditional culture expressions. Previous sessions have considered traditional knowledge and genetic resourcing. It is hoped that there will be progress towards an international framework for effective protection prior to the WIPO general assembly meeting scheduled for October 2017.
