Daniel is part of the Electrical Engineering group where he is involved with the drafting, preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and advises on patent infringement and validity issues. Daniel’s experience and interests lie within the areas of signal and information processing, electrical and electronic devices, software and computer systems, biometric recognition and communications technology.
Prior to joining Davies Collison Cave, Daniel completed a Ph.D. in signal processing engineering at The University of Western Australia. His research focused on the development of time-frequency methods for automated human speaker identification in hostile and noisy environments. Daniel’s work also involved the creation of algorithms and software for robust feature selection, machine learning and optimisation, and pattern recognition related problems. This work has been published in numerous journals and conference proceedings.
Daniel has a background in electronic engineering and computer science, and he holds bachelor qualifications in both these fields. He also has an interest in clean and renewable energy technologies, and has experience providing advice on the technical and commercial viability of solar cell devices.
