Grace has technical expertise in the areas of polymer science, materials, drug delivery, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, fibre technology and medical devices.
She has a background in polymer science, having completed a PhD in polymer chemistry at The University of Melbourne, where she prepared a range of new monomers for inclusion in biocompatible hydrogels and studied how these monomers influenced the properties of the resultant polymer.
Following her studies, Grace was a research and development scientist with an Australian biotechnology company, preparing polymer supports for biological separations. She was also a post-doctoral research fellow with the Biomaterials Group at the CSIRO, where she conducted research into new materials and coatings for an implantable ophthalmic device.
Grace has worked closely with clients ranging from individual inventors, start-up companies, research organisations, Australian universities and multinational corporations, to help develop intellectual property strategies that are designed to align with commercial goals.
She has extensive experience in preparing patent applications and in prosecuting applications both in Australia and overseas. She is also experienced in patent oppositions, IP audits and in providing intellectual property advice.
Grace joined Davies Collision Cave in 2015 after working with another leading Australian patent attorney firm for several years.
