Sian is a member of Davies Collison Cave’s Mechanical Engineering team where she is involved in preparing, filing and prosecuting patent and design applications in engineering technologies, also benefitting from a strong background in chemistry and materials sciences.

Prior to joining Davies Collison Cave, Sian completed a research project at Monash University in the area of carbon capture, performing ion exchange on zeolite molecular sieves to explore how adsorption properties could be improved for capture of methane and carbon dioxide. After finishing studies for her Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) and Bachelor of Arts degrees, Sian went on to work in a startup social enterprise in India, focused on bringing affordable clean energy and other technologies to the urban poor.

Alongside cultivating her critical thinking and scientific understanding through her technical qualifications, Sian has maintained a strong affinity for language and expression, completing a linguistics major in France, teaching English, as well as utilising her writing strengths in drafting proposals for humanitarian engineering organisations including Engineers Without Borders and Pollinate Energy.
