Grace’s practice spans patent, design, copyright and trademark litigation across a diverse range of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and life sciences, mining and resources, agriculture, consumer goods, fashion, gaming, building materials and manufacturing.
Key areas of expertise include:
- Complex patent litigation
- Developing and executing brand protection and anti-counterfeiting strategies
- Advising in relation to a broad range of copyright issues including subsistence, infringement and enforcement.
- Commercial litigation including matters involving misuse of confidential and commercially sensitive information, contractual disputes and ownership and licensing of intellectual property rights.
Grace has successfully represented local and international clients in the Federal Court (including in appeals to the Full Federal Court and High Court), as well in relation to oppositions in the Australian Patent Office.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Grace completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Genetics and Genomics and has a particular interest in biopharmaceutical, biochemistry and life-sciences subject matter.
Grace has been involved in the conduct of matters involving small molecules, secondary pharmaceutical patents and biological medicines. As a result, Grace is experienced in matters related to drug development and clinical trial pathways, dosage and formulation patents.
In addition, Grace has been involved in complex disputes in the mining sector and has considerable industry knowledge particularly in relation to blasting methods and equipment and associated matters including safety regulations. Graces’s practice includes technology-intensive disputes in the renewable energy sector.
Grace has a strong interest in collaborating with expert witnesses to develop clear and persuasive technical evidence.
