Our Culture

Davies Collison Cave is characterised by our commitment to excellence. It is the hallmark of everything we do.

Excellence comes from co-operation and camaraderie between colleagues who collectively share the responsibility of meeting our clients’ needs. We understand what is important to our people and our people are important to us. We recognise and value every individuals’ contribution to our firm’s successes. Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) focus underscores how we work.

Excellence Through Collegiality

We lead the field.

We are committed to working at the highest standards of our profession. Our people are widely recognised as world-leaders in their respective fields.  Our people hold senior positions on Boards and voluntary organisations assisting to shape the future of the Intellectual Property landscape. Many also teach in undergraduate and post-graduate courses at our leading universities.

We are proud of what we do.

We pride ourselves in attracting the best talent with diverse skills and backgrounds and developing them with our first-class mentoring program led by Principals or Senior Managers. Across all our offices in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, our unifying working environment is both supportive and empowering so that our people can develop their skills to deliver the highest-quality outcomes for clients.

We are one team.

DCC has developed a workplace which fosters collegiality in a flexible, fair and inclusive setting.  Supporting the health and well-being of our people underpins the work done by our DIB Committee which has specific groups to continually improve our focus areas. We are particularly proud of how we communicate with and engage all of our staff across different groups and locations with regular updates and town-halls and through our program named ‘BE’.

We understand what is important to our people.

Pro Bono

We are committed to participating in pro bono and philanthropic programmes.  We are a signatory to the Australia Pro bono Centre commitment and have a dedicated Pro Bono Committee to oversee and implement various pro-bono programs.

If you would like to be considered as a pro bono client then please contact us.

Sustainability

We are a member of the Australia Legal Sector Alliance (AusLSA) which promotes best practice sustainability commitments and performance across the four pillars of environment, community, governance and people. We recognise that by supporting social and environmental issues, we develop our people’s civic pride whilst also investing in the future.

Cultural Acknowledgement

We recognise the importance of culture, heritage and identity and acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the lands on which we work, pay respect to their Elders both past and present, and recognise their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We also recognise their ongoing contributions including those made to knowledge, creativity, culture and innovation and the unique and significant roles played within our communities.
