INTA 2015

This year marked the largest INTA conference held to date with close to 10,000 registrants from all over the world gathered in San Diego, California in early May. With the increasing importance of trademarks and brands to consumers, companies and the global economy, that’s seen as no surprise.

It was a back to back schedule for our DCC attendees, their days packed with various meetings with clients and associates, and a busy evening full of receptions and dinners. DCC held a reception during the conference, which was well attended by close to 600 clients and foreign associates. A big thank you to everyone who made it!

Our team look forward to the INTA 2016 Conference to be held in Orlando, Florida.

DCC partners, Bill Pickering, John Hughes, Mathew Lucas and Victor Argaet attended the BIO International Convention which ran from June 15-18 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The convention is hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and represents more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centres and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 other nations. It helps to grow the global biotech industry and encourage innovation.

DCC had a social event during the convention which turned out to be a great night between colleagues, clients and associates from various parts of the world.

On 1 May, Senior Associate Susanne Hantos attended the 2015 PIUG annual conference held in Chicago, Illinois which was an absolute success.

Susanne was pleased to be a part of it, as the immediate past President of the PIUG, as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of World Patent Information, as a member of the Stu Kaback Business Impact Award Selection Panel and as a plenary speaker on the topic of launching the world’s first international certification for patent searchers worldwide.

It was a great opportunity to meet and further develop relationships with external search providers in line with our commitment to provide the best patent search services to our clients.

On 20 March, our Brisbane office sponsored and hosted the LSQ Industry Breakfast event. These events bring together high profile biotech individuals and provide a great session to network and learn from guest speakers.

International guest, Anand Gautam, an Innovation Sourcing Director from Novo Nordisk who specialises in R&D presented at the event.

DCC partners, John Hughes and Paula de Bruyn from our Agribusiness group attended the Global Food Forum on Wednesday 15 April at the Palladium Crown, Melbourne.
These events offer a rare combination of strategic insights and practical advice on food science-based formulation challenges; regulations; emerging ingredient technologies, nutrition and critical industry/consumer trends. The forum facilitates a friendly peer-to-peer networking environment for decision-makers in R&D and other technical groups.
