On 1 March 2016, Davies Collison Cave (DCC) LLP celebrated the launch of its new Singapore office at Zafferano Terrace Lounge, Singapore.

Along with other VIP guests, the Australian High Commissioner, Philip Green, led the official launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the firm’s new office in the Ocean Financial Centre.

“Davies Collison Cave has developed a reputation as one of Australia’s largest and best patent attorneys, but this is the firm’s first venture overseas,” said Philip Green, Australian High Commissioner.

“The firm is expanding in Singapore – not just because it is a thriving business hub and gateway to the region – but because it is an emerging global IP hub in its own right.”

With Singapore fast becoming a hub for innovation and research and development, the firm’s office will allow DCC to continue safeguarding its clients’ valuable IP in Singapore and the broader ASEAN region.

“Like Australia, Singapore recognises the importance of IP as a bedrock of the innovation economy,” Mr Green said.

“Without strong IP, the exceptional level of services the Singapore government can deliver to its citizens, utilising cutting-edge technology and scientific advancements, would be just a hope.”

Since the opening of DCC’s Singapore office in mid 2015, the team has expanded and we expect this to continue as more clients come to recognise that the firm is now able to offer its high quality patent drafting and patent, trade mark and design filing and prosecution services in this increasingly important commercial, logistics and innovation hub.
