DCC congratulates Engineers Australia Award winners
Engineers Australia Sydney Division held their annual Engineering Excellence Awards on Friday, 21 September. As long-standing sponsors of the Awards, several members of Davies Collison Cave were there to support the finalists and winners for 2012.
Will Hird, a partner in the Sydney office, was proud to present the Innovations and Inventions Award to CSIRO for their work on the Ngara Rural point to point microwave backhaul technology. We congratulate them on this important breakthrough which has significant implications, including in the rollout of the National Broadband Network.
We also congratulate Atomo Diagnostics and ide Group, who were Highly Commended for their joint entry in this category, and won the Small Business Venture Award as well as the Bradfield Award, which is selected from all the Award winners.
Their MicroRapid integrated rapid blood test device is the world’s first fully integrated blood-based lateral flow test device. The device reduces procedural errors and handling, and its unique design enables it to be used across many different test areas.
Each year we are impressed by the calibre of entries and 2012 was no exception, well done to all the finalists. Keep innovating!
