BioMelbourne CEO Forum Series Luncheon

Do you believe in Biotech Angels? Mr Jordan Green, founding director of the Australian Association of Angel Investors (AAAI) presented on this topic at a recent BioMelbourne luncheon for CEO’s. Mr Jordan Green an experienced serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, angel investor and founder of Melbourne Angels quickly engaged his audience at the exclusive luncheon attended by 30 leading executives from Victoria’s biotechnology industry. Mr Green shared his insights on how to attract angel investment in these difficult economic circumstances.

Engineers Entrepreneurs Workshop

Davies Collison Cave in conjunction with Engineers Australia – Victorian Division, hosted the first Victorian Engineers Entrepreneurs Workshop during Engineering Industry Week (21-25 September 2009). The evening was designed to assist engineers and engineering students who may be thinking of running their own company, commercialising a product or service, and/or are already running their own venture.

Guest speakers included: (i) Dr Bruce Whan, Director of Swinburne Knowledge and CEO of Swinburne Ventures Limited; (ii) Mr Jefferson Harcourt, CEO of Grey Innovations; and (iii) Dr Shane Richardson, Director of Delta-V Experts. The speakers all shared their valuable industry knowledge and experience in starting up and running their own businesses.

Steven Wulff, Senior Associate of Davies Collison Cave, presented on intellectual property protection available when commercialising technology, including patents, trade marks and registered designs, and how these would be applied to an example product.
