Recent conference attendances: AusBiotech and AusBiotech Satellite Breakfast Panel

The annual AusBiotech Conference was recently held in Melbourne. The theme for AusBiotech 2010 “Creating Global Solutions” attracted over 1,500 participants, including some 190 international delegates from 20 countries. The conference centred on identifying solutions through biotechnology to deliver a positive outcome.
The conference identified biotechnology as a driver in finding better solutions in areas such as new therapies, diagnostics, medical devices, agriculture, industry and climate change. The conference was attended by the following Davies Collison Cave operators: Gavin Recchia, Jane Hutchison, Tania Obranovich, Victor Argaet.
AusBiotech Satellite Breakfast Panel

As part of the AusBiotech Conference, Davies Collison Cave hosted a Satellite Breakfast. Davies Collison Cave assembled a panel of experts to lead an interactive discussion of global IP issues affecting Australian businesses. The topic for discussion was “Global IP strategy: US, European, Chinese and Australian Perspectives”.
The assembled panel discussed the Myriad decision; changes in European patent strategy; enforcement in China and the reforms proposed by IP Australia. The event was attended by 80 participants including the following operators: Bill Pickering, Gavin Recchia, Jane Hutchison, John Hughes, Mark Roberts, Michael Caine, Tania Obranovich, Tony Shaw, Victor Argaet.
