Daisy’s experience includes Federal Court litigation and opposition proceedings before the Australian Patent Office, and she regularly works on matters involving strategically important intellectual property rights.
Daisy has a particular expertise in patent disputes concerning new and innovative technology, including biometric security software, mining software, innovative solar technology and electric-powered VTOL aircraft. She has worked on matters across a diverse range of industries, including consumer electronics, household appliances, pharmaceuticals, mining and software, renewable energy, aerospace, gaming, biometric technology and mechanical engineering. She has been involved in a wide range of patent revocation and infringement actions and is adept at collaborating with expert witnesses in various fields to develop technical expert evidence. She also regularly advises on issues of commercial relevance to patent holders, including patent ownership and entitlement issues and global patent strategies, including for multinational pharmaceutical companies.
In addition to patent litigation, Daisy has experience in contentious trade mark and Australian Consumer Law disputes, including for major brands in the food and beverage, homewares and retail sectors. She also frequently prepares strategic advice for large Australian retailers on complex trade mark, design and copyright issues. Her broader disputes experience includes copyright and breach of confidential information claims, including matters in the resources, technology and industrial sectors.
Daisy combines strong technical capability with a practical, commercial approach, and is particularly drawn to matters involving complex technologies and high-value brand or innovation assets.
