Kasumi was awarded the 2023 Trade Mark Prize by The Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA), for her excellence in the academic subjects required for qualification as a trade marks attorney, and in recognition of her potential to contribute substantially to the profession.
Prior to joining DCC, Kasumi worked in the trade mark team at a leading Australian intellectual property law firm, where she gained experience across all areas of trade mark law and practice including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, opposition, removal and enforcement.
Kasumi has assisted clients across a broad range of industries including entertainment, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and medical technologies, but has a particular interest in trade mark protection for fashion & cosmetic brands for which she is attuned to modern consumer engagement platforms and branding strategies.
