Sally has worked in the UK for a European Intellectual Property firm and on secondment as in-house counsel at Telstra.
Sally has a strong practice in searching and registering trade marks nationally and internationally and has expertise in managing large trade mark portfolios. Her client’s include leading Australian and international food and beverage, technology, manufacturing, mining sector and motor vehicle companies, Government organisations, educational organisations, SME’s and individuals. Sally is highly responsive and provides thoroughly considered but commercially practical advice.
She also has an interest in protecting brands in the online environment and provides advice in relation to effective trade mark protection in this context, including domain name and social media user name registrations and disputes. Sally has also lodged UDRP/auDRP Complaints on behalf of clients.
Sally is a former Chair of the Law Institute of Victoria’s IP&IT Committee, Editor of the Internet Law Bulletin, member of the Australian Domain Name Advisory Policy Panel, commenting on key Australian domain name policy and has held a company secretary position for a not-for –profit organisation. She regularly presents to start-ups, SME’s and larger businesses on brand protection and has published in the Internet Law Bulletin, the Law Institute Journal of Victoria and Managing Intellectual Property.
