Sanjan graduated from Monash University with degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Law. He has also gained valuable industry experience working for both small and large engineering businesses, which has sparked a passion he has for protecting ideas, inventions and designs – be it for sole inventors, large corporate enterprises or anything in between.
For over seven years, Sanjan worked at an automotive workshop where he developed a practical understanding of mechanical systems and applications. He thereafter worked for a multinational defence contractor and a major commercial aircraft manufacturer, and in so doing was involved in design, repair and sustainment activities, including development of design methodologies for composite components. Although he no longer works in the aerospace industry Sanjan continues to enjoy designing, building and flying (and occasionally crashing) remotely piloted aircraft/drones.
Sanjan has an active role in the drafting, filing and prosecuting, through to grant/registration, of patent and design applications. He also assists in validity, infringement and due diligence assessments, including freedom-to-operate and patentability searches, as well as general advisory services in relation to IP portfolio review and management.
Sanjan’s technology practice areas include automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, medical device, household appliance and general “engineered” product spaces.
