Madrid Protocol trade mark system extends to New Zealand from 10 December 2012

Trade mark owners will be able to apply to register trade marks in New Zealand under the Madrid Protocol International Trade Mark Registration system from 10 December 2012, following New Zealand’s recent deposit of the Instrument of Accession to the Madrid Protocol and the Ratification of the Singapore Treaty with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (“WIPO”).
